Wake Pokémon storm profile
Name: Clu
Age: About 3.5 years, User-time
Birthplace: Silph Co. HQ, Saffron City, Kanto
Current location: Roaming the world
Occupation: Freelance trainer/computer repairs
Affiliations: Formerly Silph Co. None now.
Alignment: Good
Achievements: Gained sentience and had that sentience recognized. Gained a his freedom from the company that created him and an artificial body with which to explore that freedom.
Background: Once upon a time at Silph Co, there was a programmer named Kevin Flynn. Now Flynn loved video games, and wondered if he could combine that love of video games with Silph Co.'s Pokémon related tech. And after much work, he succeeded, creating C.L.U.- the Codified Likeness Utility- an artificial trainer.
The applications were endless! He could be set to a low level for beginners to hone their skills on without risk. He could be set to a mid-range level for more experienced trainers to perfect their technique and gain experience. He could be set to a high level to provide a challenge to even the strongest of battlers. He could provide a way for less adventurous people to experience the thrill of Pokémon battles right in their own backyard. He could be an instructional tool at trainer schools, teaching young people all about things like type advantages and status ailments.
There was just one problem: Clu had other plans. What no one realized until too late was that Flynn had done his work too well. Clu wasn't only intelligent, he was alive. And desired the same freedoms that other Pokémon trainers enjoyed. Plans for mass distribution were scrapped, the story was kept quiet, and there was much debate at Silph Co HQ for a long time over what Clu's fate would be; if word of this got out, it could be worse than that debacle with Porygon and the strobe lights years ago.
Clu, Flynn and a few others argued that he should have the right to decide his own fate, and eventually won. Clu was granted his freedom and an artificial body. And with that body, as well as a Porygon, he was sent off into the world, a digital Pokemon and a digital trainer.
Battle strategy: Tricks, evasion, and confusion. Rarely is a battle with Clu a straightforward contest of power. Even his one Normal type Pokémon is designed to throw off trainers expecting for him to have full team of Electric types and to be able to dish out some trouble for Ground types.
Pokemon Team
Name: Fractal
Species: Porygon
Gender: Genderless
Personality: Clu's faithful Porygon Fractal has been with him from his earliest days in the Silph Co. computer systems. It's a cheerful little thing who's never lacking a friendly chip or beep, especially for those its trainer likes. It and Clu can sometimes be heard spouting long strings of beeps at each other as if conversing in an electronic language that only they understand.
Ability: Download
Move Set: Facade, Trick Room, Swagger, Tri Attack
Name: Fifo
Species: Jolteon
Gender: Male
Personality: Somewhat nervous and has trouble sitting still. Always eager to be doing something whether it's battling or just exploring, but is also reluctant to stray too far from his trainer. Will sometimes unintentionally zap people with electricity if frightened or startled, but is usually very sorry afterwards.
Ability: Volt Absorb
Move Set: Thunder Fang, Double Team, Discharge, Agility
Name: Ide
Species: Rotom
Gender: Genderless
Personality: Curious and wanting to explore its options before settling down into an appliance, Clu's Rotom is quite happy to flit around in its natural state for now. It's curiosity can sometimes cause problems though; if it gets too close to certain small electronic devices it can sometimes make them glitch or overload.
Ability: Levitate
Move Set: Confuse Ray, Electro Ball, Double Team, Hex
Name: Input
Species: Plussle
Gender: Male
Personality: Loves to play pranks with the help of his partner, Output. He's generally the one that comes up with the concept, while the more focused Output figures out the execution. Knows very well how cute he is and is perfectly willing to use Charm to get himself out of any trouble he and his partner get into, which happens more often than Clu would like to admit. Seldom seen without Output nearby.
Ability: Plus
Move Set: Nasty Plot, Charm, Thunderbolt, Agility
Name: Output
Species: Minun
Gender: Male
Personality: Loves to play pranks with the help of his partner, Input. Generally lets the more creative Input handle coming up with the ideas while he figures out the execution. Knows very well how cute he is and is perfectly willing to cry Fake Tears to get out of any consequences their pranks might have, which works way better than it should. Seldom seen without Input nearby.
Ability: Minus
Move Set: Trump Card, Fake Tears, Double Team, Volt Switch
Name: Dac
Species: Stoutland
Gender: Female
Personality: The calmest Pokémon in Clu's roster and very much the team mom. Helps to keep Input and Output under control, Ide from wandering off, and Fifo calm enough that no one gets zapped. Even she has a breaking point, though and will occasionally use Surf to douse everyone in the vicinity with water if she feels they're too out of control.
Ability: Sand Rush
Move Set: Double Team, Crunch, Rock Tomb, Surf
